Living in Los Balcones
Los Balcones is residential rather than resort: detached and semi-detached houses on their own plots, a local commercial strip and easy access to the CV-95 and AP-7. It borders the lagoon natural park, so there are sunset walks and the flamingo-watching spots nearby. Torrevieja University Hospital is close, which matters to many buyers. The beach is a short drive, not a walk.
Buying in Los Balcones
This is one of the main hunting grounds for detached villas with private pools at prices below the golf and seafront zones. Stock is mostly 1990s–2000s construction, so budget for updates: windows, air conditioning, pool equipment and roof waterproofing. Check that extensions and enclosed terraces are legal and registered — unregistered additions are common and can delay a sale or a mortgage.

Renting in Los Balcones
Long-term lets here tend to be houses, which suits families and pet owners. Supply is thinner than apartments, so rents per property are higher; plots and private pools mean you should ask who pays for garden and pool maintenance.
